This morning in one of our main egg layer coops, I found a very unhappy Light Sussex female. She had a mucky bottom which was covered in green poo, not a good sign! I gave her an Appertex tablet just in case Coccidiosis was a factor.
The colour of the poo is often a sign of worms accompanied by other symptoms, such as gaping. In this case I suspect she has something wrong with her liver. She is an old girl, so it could be her end is nigh. Ah well, time will tell.
Update 25th March 2012 – Unfortunately, she was discovered dead the next morning. A sad end to a colourful girl.
